Differentiable Content Addressable Memory with Memristors

چکیده
Memristors, Flash, and related nonvolatile analog device technologies offer in-memory computing structures operating in the domain, such as accelerating linear matrix operations array structures. These take advantage of tunability large dynamic range. At other side, content addressable memories (CAM) are fast digital lookup tables which effectively perform nonlinear Boolean logic return a match/mismatch value. Recently, CAMs have been presented merging storage search with output. However, CAM blocks cannot easily be inserted within larger adaptive system due to challenges training learning binary outputs. Here, missing link between crossbar arrays CAMs, namely differentiable memory (dCAM), is presented. Utilizing that act “soft” outputs, dCAM enables fine-tuning operation performance. Four applications quantitatively evaluated highlight capabilities: improved data pattern storage, robustness noise variability, reduced energy latency performance, an application solving satisfiability optimization problems. The use envisioned core building block fully systems employing multiple types compute memories.

متن کاملA Reconfigurable Content Addressable Memory
Content Addressable Memories or CAMs are popular parallel matching circuits. They provide the capability, in hardware, to search a table of data for a matching entry. This functionality is a high performance alternative to popular software-based searching schemes. CAMs are typically found in embedded circuitry where fast matching is essential. This paper presents a novel approach to CAM impleme...
متن کاملA Hybrid Neural Network of Addressable and Content-Addressable Memory
We investigate the memory structure and retrieval of the brain and propose a hybrid neural network of addressable and content-addressable memory which is a special database model and can memorize and retrieve any piece of information (a binary pattern) both addressably and content-addressably. The architecture of this hybrid neural network is hierarchical and takes the form of a tree of slabs w...

Fast content addressable data access mechanisms have compelling applications in today’s systems. Many of these exploit the powerful wildcard matching capabilities provided by ternary content addressable memories. For example, TCAM based implementations of important algorithms in data mining been developed in recent years; these achieve an an order of magnitude speedup over prevalent techniques....
متن کاملResistive Content Addressable Memory for Configurable Approximation
Associative memory, as a form of computing-with-memory, reduces energy of the processing elements by eliminating redundant computations [2], [8], [11]–[15], [17]–[20]. An associative memory can quickly recall responses of a function for a subset of input patterns to save energy by avoiding the actual function execution on the processing element. An associative memory is typically composed of a ...
